REVIEW: Essential Damage Care Rich Premier Hair Products Collection

Here is my review of Essential Damage Care Rich Premier Hair Products collection. Below is the order of how I use the products : 1) Essential Damage Care Rich Premier Shampoo, 2) Essential Damage Care Rich Premier Treatment, 3) Essential Damage Care Rich Premier Nourishing Care Lotion.

I bought the Essential Damage Care Rich Premier Hair Mask also, but have not used it. A review of it will come at a later time. The only product that I didn’t buy from the collection is the Essential Damage Care Rich Premier Conditioner. One of my friends that has gorgeous hair told me that instead of conditioner, she uses hair treatment/mask as conditioner. She leaves the hair treatment/mask for only 3 minutes after shampooing. Her hair looks very healthy and shiny. So, I decided to try out her beauty tip.

Hair Background: I have naturally wavy hair. But in November 2012, I got my hair digitally permed. Due to the chemical treatment, the ends of my hair is getting drier and more tangled up. Plus, the humid climate in Singapore has caused my waves to be frizzy and uncontrollable. So, I was hoping the Essential Damage Care Rice Premier Hair to smooth out the frizz and make my hair more moisturized.

1) Essential Damage Care Rich Premier Shampoo

Cuticle Care Technology provides 4 times more Cuticle Protection for smoother, tangle-free hair to the last 15cm of your hair. Also with Inner Repair Essence that penetrates damaged, hollow hair core and High Purity Honey and Shea Butter, hair is repaired and moisturized, regaining softness.

The shampoo has a great fresh scent. It does not foam much, which means that the sodium laureth sulfate content is relatively low. That means my hair is not stripped out of its natural oils. My hair feels smooth already after just using this shampoo.

Shunji Matsuo@Somerset 313

Decided to get a haircut because I can't stand the length and heaviness of my hair. The last time I got a trim was in late October, it has been over 10 weeks. I wanted to keep the length of my hair but needed to trim the ends and tame the layers.

My sister has gotten her hair cut at Shunji Matsuo @ Somerset313 several times before, so I decided to check out the place. I booked an appointed with a Master Stylist (which is an intermediate between the Director and Junior Stylist). The hair stylist name was, Eddie. When I walked into the salon, they seated me right away and brought several magazines for me to read. Eddie was still working on another customer, even though I made an appointment. However, less than 3 minutes after being seated, Eddie came by to take a look of my hair and asked what I wanted to get done. I told him that I wanted a trim because my hair was getting messy. He asked about my curls and asked whether this was what I wanted. I answered that I liked the curled ends but not the top part, it was too puffy. He mentioned that it will be better to cut of 2 inches of my hair to make it neater. This is because my hairstyle had a V-shape before with the wispy layers, which tends to make the curls messy. He said evening out the layers by changing the shape of my hairstyle to a U-shape will be better. I agreed to his suggestion and let him do his magic.

My hair feels so much lighter and neater after the cut. His styling hands are magical! He blow dried my curls to look bouncy and flowly. I felt like a princess after he was finished with my hair. I wish he could do my hair everyday.

Liquid Eyeliner Tip

MAC Liquidlast Liner is one of my most HG eyeliners. However, I found that I don’t use it often enough due to the brush. The thin brush is difficult to control especially if you are trying to create a natural eyeliner look. A few days ago, I decided to try a new way to apply MAC Liquidlast liner. I took my Ecotools Angled Eyeliner brush, and generously brushed on the MAC Liquidlast liner at the tip of the brush. I wait for about 5 seconds before applying the liquid liner. After it becomes tacky, the liquid liner becomes more of a gel-like texture. Especially for my monolids, I find it easier to apply liquid liner this way. With this method, MAC Liquidlast liner becomes more convenient to use. It is easier for me to create a fine eyeliner look. This method also allows me to use MAC Liquidlast liner for tightlining.

I’m really happy that I found this new method of using MAC Liquidlast liner. It will work especially well for those of you that like the staying power of liquid liner but find it difficult to apply. Try it out for yourself!

REVIEW: Lucidol-L Hair Make Supplement Soft Memory Oil

Lucidol-L Hair Make Supplement Soft Memory Oil for Permed Hair

This product claims to provide long lasting moisturizing treatment by restoring your hair’s natural moisture retention system. This is how it works.

image

I’ve been using it for over a month, and the verdict is that it is a good product. My digitally permed hair does feel softer and more moisturized after use. It has a light floral scent. Even though it is a type of treatment oil, it does not make my hair greasy. The treatment oil penetrates quickly into the hair. I tend to use 3-4 pumps of product for my hair (the length which is right past my bra line). I prefer to use it on towel dried hair rather than dry hair - it seems to work better that way. The only downside of this product is that it does not do much for frizz control. I will continue the search for a styling product for my digitally permed hair that tends to frizz in this humid environment.

REVIEW: Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

Active Ingredients:
Montmorillonite Clay absorbs excess oil, dirt and toxins from the skin.
Pine Bark Extract, a powerful antioxidant, conditions the skin and defends from free radical damage.
Vitamin C helps brighten skintone and reduce the look of fine lines.
Jojoba Leaf, a powerful antioxidant, combats free radical damage while it nourishes and protects skin to prevent premature aging, and Willowherb, a unique anti-irritant, helps to calm skin inflammation and reduce visible redness and irritation.

I’ve been using this mask once a week for over two months now. I bought this product because I was breaking out like crazy especially in the T-zone areas. I thought this will work well to purify and remove excess dirt & oil. Since it a purifying mask, I only use it once a week on my sensitive combination skin. Instead of applying it all over my face, I only use it on the T-zone areas (forehead, nose and chin). However, I don’t see any significant improvements to my skin. It did not minimize or reduce the occurrence of breakouts.  My skin does feel a little smoother after use, but I don’t see my skin tone being brightened. Regarding the minimization of lines and wrinkles, I can’t comment on that since it is not applicable to my skin condition.

Overall, Boscia Luminizing Black Mask ($34) is not worth buying. There are cheaper products in the market that does the same or better job in purifying the skin such as Nivea Refining Peel Off Mask and Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask.
